I am an Assistant Professor at the Department of Political Science at Texas A&M University. Previously, I was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Institute for Advanced Study in Toulouse. I obtained my PhD in Politics at the Department of Politics at New York University.

In order to maintain power and to implement their preferred policies, political elites must mobilize supporters, discourage opponents, and generally mold public opinion in their favor. To achieve these goals, elites use various instruments, from coercion to the distribution of public and private goods. I study elites’ choices of instruments, and the conditions under which different instruments are effective. I am especially interested in the instrument of propaganda.
